That's often the case, Guest Nogs. Try the second search box ("Max's hand-crafted search", from memory) instead: that usually works when the primary one fails.

Web server crashed and I couldn't get it going again. Then... turns out I'm no good at this shit anymore. So many obstacles to getting a working trio of servers to spit out a web site. This was very challenging. So this is what getting old is like huh? Y'all warned me but I didn't believe you.

About 15 minutes ago I was just thinking, maybe the 'Cat might never come back, and then I half-heartedly clicked the link, and just like magic it popped up out of nowhere.

We're all getting older, as my Hubby and I found out a couple of weeks ago when we had to change a flat tire. What used to be a breeze is now a wheeze and a lot of heavy lifting.

And keberoxu, luckily the 'Cat was microchipped so it found its way home again - eventually.

We were down for 15 days this time. Usually when we're down, I can find almost anything from Mudcat in the cache of Google search results. That worked until sometime last week. I tried it this week, and got no Google search results from Mudcat. That was scary.
I'm sure glad we're back.

Don't be too quick to blame yourself because you're old, Max. There are plenty of younger people out there who are not doing their part. It's hard to make systems mesh when somebody's left parts out of what you have to mesh with.

Example: a couple weeks ago I contacted Hewlett Packard because my new printer would not scan. I was on the phone with a tech for over an hour as he tried to load the drivers that should have gone on my computer automatically.

clicking on Maggie's link in facebook page worked & here I am - as a Guest. I'm not on facebook, & until recently I could see facebook pages in my main browser Firefox, but in recent times I can't see anything - all I can see is the url & a totally blank screen - so now I look at them in chrome & saw Mudcat was back! YAH!!!!!! Thanks Max.

I clicked my bookmark in Firefox & was told 'Not Found - HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found' Typing mudcat.org in google gives the same result - so I clicked on Maggie's link. I have Adbloc & No Script on firefox but not on chrome, dunno whether that's the reason.

I have been hoping my Personal Help Desk can find time this busy week to come over & sort out a few other things, so I'll see if he can sort this new weirdness out.

F5 (the key) is refresh - if you hit a blank page then refreshing should give you the actual page for the URL in your search bar.

I'm back on firefox, on my Mac, so F5 didn't help when I just tried to see my folkclub's facebook page.
According to google, command R does the same on a mac - ie. nothing for my folk club's facebook page!

Maybe my earlier experiences with both browsers are just One Of Life's Little (on-line) Mysteries.

It's all very interesting, I hope my Personal Help Desk can explain it.
