Subject: Lyr Req: Franke:...the best thing I've ever done From: GUEST,Dunkle Date: 21 Feb 23 - 06:42 AM I'm remembering a line from a Bob Franke song - I'm pretty sure it was his - in which, while singing about being a parent to a child, he says something like "it may not be the thing I do best, but it's the best thing I've ever done." Could someone point me to the song? I've googled the lyric, but haven't come up with the origin. |

Subject: RE: ADD: Boomerang Pancakes (Franke) Best thing that.. From: Joe Offer Date: 22 Feb 23 - 04:27 PM BOOMERANG PANCAKES (Bob Franke) Elizabeth Franke is somebody special, The child who enriches my life. She’s a curious person with love in her heart, If you don’t believe me, ask my wife. CHORUS Listening and hugging and standing the test, To carry my little one through; I can’t really say it’s the thing I do best, But it’s the best thing that I do. It's the best thing that I do. My daughter’s no angel, sometimes she’s a pain, Sometimes she won’t do what I say; But she’s the inventor of boomerang pancakes, And the cause of most joy in my day. CHORUS She’s strong and she’s fast and she’s fearless as anything, And if you can walk there, she runs; And she keeps me in touch with the kid I grew up from, And she teaches me how to have fun. CHORUS If I were a playboy and didn’t want children, My house would be full of fine things; But I couldn’t enjoy half the things that I did, And I couldn’t sit back and sing: CHORUS It's greedy people who suck out the planet, And leave nothing but a shell; Don’t let them extinguish the world of your children, And don’t let them steal it to sell, ‘coz…. LAST CHORUS Working and stuggling and standing the test, To carry our little ones through; Maybe it isn’t the thing we do best, But it’s the best thing that we do. It's the best thing that I do.
