Subject: Lyr Req: ?house in country From: GUEST,Songster Date: 01 Jun 23 - 03:32 AM I'm having one of those brain fog moments and maybe someone can help me with the name of this song and who performs it. I believe it's a song of the travellers/gypsies . The lyrics, as I remember, go something like: I don't have a house in the country, I don't have a house in the town, but I'll saddle up my pony and travel the world around. The singer talks about not having a home but feeling free to go anywhere and the last verse is about how he is not going to serve his king and country because he doesn't have a home to serve them from. I don't remember if this song is actually traditional, or written in the traditional style. Has a simple but appealing melody. I d like to locate the song again,I believe it s also on youtube . Thanks for your help in advance. |
