In light of Jez Lowe's loss of instruments. Two scammers approached me last night, suggesting that their mobile phone was on my premises. They were attempting to clone my key fob and gain details of my household. Having been rebuffed, they then started on my next-door neighbour. She has a terminal lung condition. I am fat and 71 so I could not take them on. They left within minutes. I sometimes leave valuables in my car overnight, (pure idleness-not wanting to shift stuff at night). Should these scammers clone your details they can follow you anywhere.
I am probably overreacting a bit, but I want to give a heads-up to you all. Please be aware and safe. Yes, the police know.

I didn't worry about this stuff 15 years ago. Now I do.
I felt invulnerable for so long. Now I don't.

I do not have a key fob. i dont think the scammers would be able to clone my details?
the fact that key fobs can be cloned, is it not an example of technology and its lack of security and its misuse creating problems
I am sorry you have had these problems, presumably from members of the non travelling community

Having trouble posting to this. Trying a short message. My alarm system went barmy from their attempt at entry. Hooray for steering locks. It's a £28k caddy with a hoist, and Mally's scooter was on board. We were lucky.

You would be surprised. I did actually use an ex-Marine on one occasion.
