Subject: Resources thread From: Thompson Date: 22 Feb 24 - 01:55 PM This is a suggested sticky thread for folk and country music resources. Some suggestions, for a start: University of California San Diego's wax cylinder library Irish Traditional Music Archive Dúchas, the National Folklore Collection of Ireland Please add further helpful links, and hopefully Joe et al will stickify this so it stays at the top of the board. |
Subject: RE: Resources thread From: Joe Offer Date: 22 Feb 24 - 02:36 PM Oh, somebody mentioned a sticky thread a week or so ago, and I didn't know what it was. Was that you? I didn't understand the term. What you went is a thread that stays on the top of the Forum Menu, and we don't have the capacity for that. We do have a Links Section listed up top. You can submit links yourself. If I see worthwhile links posted in the Forum, I add them to our Links section. We had a link to the ITMA, but this information helped me to improve the link. I added the other two resources to our links page. The best thing to do is probably to start a thread on a resource that looks interesting, and then tell us about it. Don't flood us with threads like that, but it would be very helpful to have a thread like that now and then. I suppose you could also do that in this thread. But please give us a little more information. We don't need lists of links. We already have oodles on our links page. |
Subject: RE: Resources thread From: Stilly River Sage Date: 22 Feb 24 - 08:50 PM Permathread, Joe. No, I don't want to do that. -Joe- |
Subject: RE: Resources thread From: Thompson Date: 23 Feb 24 - 02:37 AM It's probably not necessary to make it a sticky/permathread - if people keep contributing good sources on folk, traditional, bluegrass, etc, it'll stay current. |
