Subject: Tech: Proton - new kid on the block From: Dave the Gnome Date: 01 Sep 24 - 05:36 AM Just set up my free Proton email and storage. The subscription deal looks tempting after my current VPN sub runs out. Anyone got any experience with or views on Proton? |
Subject: RE: Tech: Proton - new kid on the block From: GUEST,Steve Shaw Date: 01 Sep 24 - 05:46 AM I like it. I have only the free version but it's done me several favours so far. Very easy to switch on or off as required. The only hitches are the ads featuring beautiful Dutch girls advertising underwear! |

Subject: RE: Tech: Proton - new kid on the block From: Stilly River Sage Date: 01 Sep 24 - 11:45 AM Proton Mail has been around for quite a while (ten years in Internet terms is ages!). If you're emailing to non-Proton accounts it sounds like it can get a bit fussy with encryption and passwords. Just remember - if it is free, then you and your data are the resource in question for the company. I prefer to use a paid-for VPN. Malwarebytes is reasonably priced (about $70 a year) though I bundled it in with my other Malwarebytes products (real time browser protection, etc.) and can use it on all of my devices (desktop, laptop, phone, tablet). |
