Subject: How to Locate Jan Harmon Albums
From: GUEST,solweber@juno.com

Someone asked me how they can locate a source for buying Jan Harmon albums; they don't have e-mail etc. I want to get the info and pass it on to them.

Thanks.

(I have several round singing books and a rounds album of my own. My "Rounds Galore" is quite popular. Is Mudcat a good place for rounds fans to find out about them? It *is* largely a labor of love.)

Thanks, Brendy, for sharing that link! I sing several of Jan's songs, which speak to me in a way few others do. I have "So Bravely Dream," and love it, but didn't know about all the other available tapes. Thanks!

Jan was truly a gem. I only met her once, at Gordon Bok's house in Maine in 1989. We recognized each other by name, because we each had a song on a children's tape by Bob Reid, called "Marz Barz" -- the title tune was Jan's. Her music is wonderful, from the wickedly funny stuff to the inventive rounds ("My Friend Sharon Saved an Armadillo From a Crocodile") to the magnificent choral works. I didn't know she had recordings out; I will check out that link posthaste -- thanks, Brendy!

And thank you, Sol, for your strong work in collecting and preserving rounds. I'm sure you'll get lots of material and support from the Mudcat. You might be able to get Max or Joe Offer to add a link to your collections.

Aloha,
Mark
