You can hear this being sung by the Suffolk singer & fiddle-player Fred Whiting on the double CD "A Story to Tell" - field-recordings made by Keith Summers. I also recorded a set from the Oxfordshire singer Freda Palmer.

Pete Nalder (whom I've just been referring to in another thread) did just the chorus of this as what he called "a one-verse idiot song". I presume he had come across it somewhere in that form. There is indeed something to be said for limiting it to that.
