Hi

I am going to do a solo CD and the best way to do it seems to be to set up my own record company, so does anyone have any knowledge, experience, contacts etc.. on this subject?

Sam - legally there does not seem to be any reason why you would need to set up a company in order to do this.

Sam, from the various CB Fiddlers who have their own CDs out, it does not appear you HAVE to have a company set up for it. In some cases it done that way, more if they plan to be out there doing music as a business and their primary source of income.

There are VERY definite tax advantages to setting up your own label...I urge you to investigate this THOROUGHLY, as it can save you a lot of tax dollars (that may very well be used for things you do not approve of...never pay more in taxes than you absolute must!)

It's amazing how many LEGITIMATE things you can deduct in the US of A...I've no idea what the tax situation is in other countries, but it's worth your time to check it out!
