I can be found sitting in our authentic Civil War era camp with my banjo. The picture was taken with an original camera of the period, using glass plates and developed according to processes used during the 19th century. The picture is in a sepia tone as was normal for photgraphs of the period. I am in Union uniform at this particular event. I also wear the grey whenever the need arises. The 'likeness was struck' (period term for picture was taken) at a recent local event. The photographer, when not reenacting, teaches middle school language arts. (English, for us old farts) Thanks are in order for bbc and her son David, for taking the time to give us all the opportunity to see who is part of our community.

Looks great Banjer. I am impressed.
It is nice to see such creativity in the photos.

Holy Cow, Banjer, ya better watch it, I've heard the newbies/yuppies are buying up old photos to hang on their walls and claim as ancestors...seriously! Rog heard or saw some program on it a while back! With the fine caliber of such you could probably become an instant "way back when" grampa of who knows how many families!**BG**

Really well done and what a nice addition to the photo gallery. Thanks for sending it in and for giving us the background on it.

Under the Mudcat Cafe Letterhead, click "links", then click "bbc's Mudcat Resources" for lots of great pictures, including that of a man who actually blows up possum's asses while impersonating John Denver.

Now I'm gonna go check out General Banj's likeness...

there is also an updated mugshot of my self taken aboard my boat. Thanks so much bbc I did not expect you to be so swift making the changes. Osmium - at the top of the thread page,just below the mudcat banner acros the top and just above the thread title and list of posters , there should be a box that says quick links in it. click on the down arrow at the right of the box, highlight bbc mudcat resources then click on the go button next to the box.

Osmium...Go to the top of the page here and you should see a rectangular box labeled "Quick Links" with a "GO" next to it. Click on the arrow next to the GO and a pull down menu will appear. Highlight "bbc's Mudcat Resources" and click GO.

Hardiman and I are still searching the nether regions of the internet for the right photo of "us" to include. We want to be sure to be up to your standards, and some of your bbc real-folkie impersonations are really excellent. *BG*

I apologize for the delay but Hardiman is really fussy about these things. You know he has an image to maintain. (Me, I woulda just sent the Dolly Parton Autoharp photo by now.)

I guess I should mention here that I have some pics on the site thanks to BBC. They've been up for a spell. The one is at Bent's Fort around 1830 or so. The other is with some friends at Homestead City in 1898. Yeah I'm old but I take care of myself. I'll have to hook up with Banjer sometime when I'm in the 1860's.

Lone Rangers, Batmen, bandits... Fancy dress. I grew my beard, but you can buy them in shops, or even draw them on in pencil on the photo.

McGrath, don't give people ideas. I have been known to be stuffy & refuse to put up some photos, if they don't meet my site criterion of identifying us to each other. It ought to be a fairly current photo, of reasonable visual quality, & not include a huge proportion of non-Mudcatters. I have even given my opinion, a time or two, that a photo wasn't very flattering & suggested that someone wait until s/he could send a better one. No intent to offend--hope I haven't--just a few silly standards I have (& it is my site). :)
