All I remember about the song was that 3 little boys sailed the night sky in a magic ship. Seems like two of the boys names were Peter and John. They sailed until they got very sleepy and fell asleep (I remember great amounts of yawn- ing when my Dad sang the song at bedtime). Seems like the ship was actually the boys' bed and that the sails were the bed sheets. My Dad sang the song to me during the early 50's. He probably learned the song from a 78 rpm record. Any help appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. It is similar, but I don't think it's the one I'm looking for. The wooden shoe lyric prompted my thinking, and I'm sure it was a "sailing ship" the boys used. There was also some mention of one of the boys being the "captain". I'll keep trying! Thanks again
