Help! I've heard a song from American soldiers some decades ago, but I remember only the chorus: "Roll me over in the clover, roll me over, lay me down and do it again." Verses start with " ... was number ..." and the numbers are counted through from one to ... Any servicemen out there who can help me to find the full text?

Wilfried Schaum, M.A. Lutheranlage 13 D-61169 Friedberg Germany

(Yes, the town where the King served his time in Germany)

Hm.. this is also a song sung by the Wenches' Guild at RenFaires, titled "Roll Me Over In the Clover".. I remember a few of the verses, but not all. Someone send me an Email reminding me, and I"ll ask some of the other wenches at Faire if they know the rest of them.

While we're on the subject.. does anybody know the rest of the song:

"I put my hand upon her knee, yo-ho, yo-ho I put my hand upon her knee, yo-ho, yo-ho I put my hand upon her knee She said, "Hey sailor, quit teasing me Get it in, get it out, quit fookin' about!" yo-ho, yo-ho" ?

I only remember about three of the verses, and I know there are several more...
