I have just beem listning to a new double CD given to me by Mudcatter Graham Pirt and I can honestly say that it is the best CD I have ever heard. The title is " Picking Sooty Blackberries" and is the story of the late Keith Marsden. It was recorded live at last years Whitby Folk Festival and features "Cockersdale" who are Val Marsden, (Keith's widdow), John O'Hagen and our own Graham Pirt, with a choir of about eighty singing the chorus's with great enthusiasam. It is not just the songs which make it a very enjoyable CD but also the stories of the songs with amusing comments by Cockersdale which gives the whole recording a personal and factual history of Keith Marsden and the area in which he grew up and worked. The CD has been produced by Cockersdale and is only available from Graham Pirt Here If you want to hear great singing, great songs and great stories I reccomend you try this one. Cheers Bill

I want it.

Yoo-hoo, Dick Greenhaus - is there any way Camsco could carry this so we could pay with US money or plastic? Just an idea...

I was also in the choir - a great week, even if we did weep once or twice listening to recordings of Keith singing, and remembering him singing in person at Whitby. A great experience!
