Hi Eez, it's about 9 miles east of New London and just a couple from Mystic.

I'd LOVE to do a gig in NYC. Let me tell you how gigs like Stonington, Branford, Guelph, Barrie, Kitchener etc. happen.

I decided a few years ago that I really enjoyed doing house concerts. I'd been playing clubs for so many years and had really gotten sick of the hassles.(which are too numerous to mention) I decided to try a different tack. I would check out areas where my music was being played on the radio and find out if there was a local folk music society that might be interested in putting on a concert. Outside of Canada I was a pretty unknown quantity and since I avoid most forms of entertainment biz "hype" like the plague, I figured my low profile wasn't going to change much. House concerts (simply a situation where someone turns their abode into a "folk concert" once a month or so) have provided about 2/3rd's of my work over the past 6 years. I have far more fun than in a bar (and consequently play a LOT better), at 10 or 12 bucks a head, the money is liveable on, and I've met so many wonderful folks I can't tell you.

So if you know anyone that might put one on in The Big Apple, lemme know, and I'll be there with bells on.

Rick

I couldn't find North Stonington CT on the map. Where is it?

Wouldn't you like to play The Big Apple (NYC) sometime?

Just got word that my concert in North Stonington on Sun. is sold out. (to a folkie, there can be no sweeter words) Don't know about the one for the Branford Folk Society on Saturday evening. Probably still a few tickets for anyone who'd like to come.

I think we will have a wonderful time. It looks like maybe we'll have good weather. I hope so. My son, James, who is going to The Culinary Institute of America, has promised to get me a wonderful salad recipe and a fantastic steak marinade recipe. It would be great if that great cook Big Mick was here, but maybe he'll be able to make it down this summer. Huh, Mick?

Two weeks to go!!

Love, annap

Well welcome beautiful daughter to this craziness and the most beautiful group anywhere.

Peter, we don't have to tell her everything, do we?

Annapseed, we don't have to tell them everything, do we?

Rita, I really wish you and Bill could be here at least Saturday morning. Oh well, it's a long drive and you sound very busy. Maybe next time.

Max says he is REALLY, REALLY going to try to make it. Bert too, Rick.

The start of a new week. Have a wonderful week everyone.

Love, annap

...... * SIGH * ........

... If it ain't one damn thing it's ten, as my mother used to say.... That weekend: We're doing a craft show on the 6th, 7th and 8th; the Open Sing is the 7th (would miss that were it not for all else); and our kid's school play is on the 6th, 7th and 8th.

Have fun and sing one for Bill and me!

Guess what? My daughter has joined Mudcat. She has signed up as annapseed. Isn't that cute? After Amy was born, her father and I used to call her "Seed". We would go places with her, like to friends houses singing "Bringing in the Seed", "Bringing in the Seed"..etc. She has a very sweet voice, unlike Mom. If you can get her to sing. Hopefully she will post soon. Right now she is a "LURKER". She may be watching this very moment.

Wish you could drive down too, Jeri. Gonna miss you. I was planning to go to bed about 1AM or so. ER, how early is early? Around 9am is good I think. Rick and Heather will be leaving around 3pm I think, maybe later. So we'll have time for music, eating, etc. all day.

ER - taking over Allan C's job of waking people up? From my experience staying with them, Rick and Heather don't usually go to bed any too early. Rick may not be able to play the gig because his guitar will be in the process of being extracted by snickering doctors in an emergency room somewhere.

Wish I could be there...

If too many of us show up on Friday night, I have a feeling we'll all be up much too late, playing and singing, and Rick will be too tired to drive to Connecticut and perform, on Saturday, especially after travelling from Toronto, on Friday.

I think that, for that reason, I'll come down on Saturday morning Early. Be warned! Go to bed on time, Friday night, like good little children! I'm gonna wake you all up and roust you out of bed on Saturday! ;-) ;-) ;-)

Rick: Don't forget to bring some of your new CDs for us to purchase.

Roger, this might not be as silly as you think. I haven't talked to Frank about this, but how about booking us a concert near you....this is the way things start in the folk world, trust me! Lets see now...Frank might want to travel on the Concorde (I'll be happy with a WW11 C-47) and after the concert we'll give you the best lesson you ever had!! Being Canadian, and American, it could be a multi-cultural event...I'll bring a hockey stick!

I'll be at mudcat radio tonight, and we'll talk it up there. Hopefully at least a couple more folks will sign up from that!

Love to you and honey!
