Well, I see that people are advertising their festivals which take place in August and September- so I guess it is not too early to advertise ours which takes place in May! May 19th & 20th to be precise. Hot on the heels of The Pope's visit next week- Jacob's Ladder will be held on the shores of the Sea of Galilee in Israel. The lineup includes Steve Haggard, Bob Brozman, Woody Mann Noah Zacharin, Southbound Train , Midnight Mojo Blues, Essev Bar(Wild Weed) Jug O'Punch, Irish Cream, Evergreen, Ray Scudero, and many many more. We would like to invite all 'Catters to visit!(it's not far)- and to extend an invitation to performers for consideration for the 2001 festival.(expenses paid trip) More info can be had from our website http://jacobs-ladder.canaan.co.il Jack The Lad

Will the Pope be there? When he booked Bob Dylan for a concert I thouight he didn't look that impressed. And he was right - Bob Dylan wasn't being too impressive that day either.

Jacob's Ladder to me normally means Sidmouth Festival, where it's a cliff and a staiorcase up the cliff.

The Pope will be here next week for a week. They're closing down all the roads round the Sea of Galilee. The only way to get across will be to walk over the water.

Bob Dylan visited my kibbutz in the early seventies, but he seemed to have taken a vow of silence. Jack The Lad

Hi, Jack,

Do you have dancing at your festival? Is there any chance you would be interested in having a dance caller come over?

Greetings:

It's time to bring theis ancient thread back to life after nearly seven years! Why? Because I've been booked to perform at the upcoming Jacob's Ladder Folk Festival in Nof Ginosar, Israel, May 4 and 5, 2007.

My sister-in-law attended last year and had a good time. I've spoken with a frequent past performer, Rahel Limor, and she assures me that I'll love it. Also, I have been in e-mail contact with the festival organizers, Menachem and Yehudit Vinegrad, and they told me what to expect. Do any Mudcatters have any first hand experience with this festival that they would like to share?

Thanks.

--- Steve

Greetings again:

I just received the preliminary schedule for the 2007 Jacob's Ladder Folk Festival in Nof Ginosar, Israel. They have me down for two one-hour time slots. I was told the performances will actually be 45 to 50 minutes each because of the turnover time between acts. Here they are:

Friday, May 4, 4:00 PM, Hermon Hall: Tribute to the Legendary American Folk Singer, Woody Guthrie.

Saturday, May 5, 10:00 AM, Lawn Stage: Well Known and Original American Folk Songs.

Once again, are there any Mudcatters out there who have first hand experience with the Jacob's Ladder Folk Festival that they are willing to share?

Thanks.

--- Steve
