Does anyone have the music to "Flower in the Wildwood"?

Not Wildwood Flower.

And not THE CHURCH IN THE WILDWOOD?? Can you tell us anything more about the song, Dulci? Titles can be deceiving.

Nope, different song, Carter Family. I will try to look it up later. (as always, my feelings are not hurt when someone else beats me to it) There's a flower blooming in the wildwood . . . sweeter than the month of june when the roses were in bloom. Can't think of any more right now.

These are the words to the song I am looking for
One evening long ago when the sun was sinking low
My true lover went to sail the deep blue sea
It was in the month of June wand the roses were in bloom
And he took me in his arms and said to me

Chorus:
You're a flower that's blooming in the Wildwood
You're a flower that's blooming there for me
Sweeter than the morning dew, and I'll soon return to you
You're a flower that's blooming there for me.
Does that help?

Yep, that is the one I have somewhere. I know you'll get it here, it is just a matter of time before one of us comes up with it!

I think you are right, Kendall. I have practically all the Country Ham stuff. Nice to find another fan, though our tastes do run parallel at times, don't they?

Then a message came to me from his captain on the sea
and he told me that my darlin' was dead
Oh, the shocking surprise brought the teardrops to my eyes
when I thought about the last words that he said.
Refrain

Now he can't return to me, he got drownded in the sea
and he's passed through all of life's dreary ways
But in the weary month of June when the roses are in bloom
It seems that I can hear my darlin' say.
Refrain

That's how I learned it.

I really like Country Ham. Carl Pagter and I picked all night at the Thomas Point BG Fest. last year.

Saw a bunch of Carter Family CD's in Collectors Choice Music catalogue in the very recent past. If you play by ear, might be useful. The added attraction was that they were on sale for about 8$. Cheap thrill!

I'm a big Carter Fan but don't know Collectors Choice Music catalogue. $8.00 is cheap. I don't think this song is a Carter song. Theirs is Wildwood Flower. I already play that.

Flatt and Scruggs may have done this one.

Flatt and Scruggs may have done this one. Title, I think, was "You are my Flower."

Ferrara--

If that's the same one, that's a fine song. It shouldn't be too hard to find on Flatt & Scruggs sites.

Flatt & Scruggs did record "You Are My Flower". It is not the same song as "The Flower Blooming In the Wildwood".
