While looking for a midi of Wind That Shakes the Barley, I came across the a href=http://www.cowtown.net/midi8.ihtml>Cowtown Traditional Scottish Tunes in midi format. There aren't a lot, but it is easy to use and has some fairly nice medlies, too.

I might add here that these are all Barry Taylor's midis -(he is credited at the bottom of the page). The real thing is at:

Traditional Scottish Tunes in Midi Format (http://www.contemplator.com/tunebook/scotmidi.htm).

Since most of these are Barry Taylor's midis, why don't you just go to the original Taylor's Traditional Tunebook. And also, a big thanks to Barry Taylor!

Mary

I love to plug Barry's pages - and he's just redone the English, Irish and Welsh midis (Scotland is in the works!) - If you have a good sound card they sound even better than they did before - another reason to go back to the originals!

Sometimes there is intelligent life at the TV. Just a few minutes ago I got a CELTIC JAM in some Appalachian xxxx Mountain place in North Carolina (I´m waiting they repeat it) - lots of joy and Scottish music and bagpipes and gracious female dancers and big ugly guys throwing telephone poles away (I knew these gatherings were messy, but this is really too much) and I can almost smell the beer. What a pleasure should be to attend one of those festivals! I´ve been in USA many times and did never go there. Next time..
Did you know that we in Argentina have a significant bagpipe culture ? Because there is a small Scottish, British and Irish community, but a VERY large Galizian (Spanish) community from which half the Argentines are descendants. Same celtic roots.
Un abrazo - Andrés

It was the GrandFather Mountain in North Carolina. Has any one been there, near two journalists from "Travellers" and their cameras ?
Un abrazo - Andrés
