Help: Open Tunings

I've just run a filter over the past year and can find no threads on this subject.

I find myself increasingly using one or two open strings to add emphasis / depth to certain chords or phrases and would be interested to hear any views on the practise positive or negative as well as recommendations for open tunings to try for variety.

Hi Hyp........Enter the word tuning in the filter box and you can get several of the ones we have run....set the refresh to 2 years.

There are a lot more, but the names elude me at the moment. Be nice when we get the Super Search back!

Cheers spaw - bit of a dizzy loon me I thought open tunings> would stop me from getting pages of c**p on issues I didn't want to see.

Obviously gone down with a bad case of specificity. I guess I'll have to take a couple of generalities and go lie down in a darkened room.

You could also try searching for "DADGAD" or for other specific tunings. I know I've read a couple of threads on DADGAD recently.
