Now that time of the year is here I am going to take the liberty of sharing one of my songs with you

I have included the chords and melody line but it is a bit beyond my ablitiy to notate the timing correctly.

The red is for the blood you shed to keep me flying free

So if you see them tear me down and throw me to the floor,
remember they can't hurt me; I've survived much worse before
and when you see them burn me and you know they're doing wrong,
remember they're just proving that it's freedom makes me strong.

It's freedom that you must protect to keep me flying high.
If you protect that freedom then I will never die.

Looking for the lyrics to a record/video made by Tommy Cash, Tom T. Hall, Johnny Cash and George Jones a few years ago...

Line goes:

Several years ago the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo had

The Highwaymen (Cash, Kristofferson,Jennings and Nelson)

for two shows. (I went both nights !!) The song you mentioned

was done by Johnny Cash and was very impressive with a hugh

Old Glory (on video) waving the entire height of the stage.

The line was part of a recitation that broke the song and I

wish I could remember more of it. Let me tell you, though,

it brought tears to this old redneck's eyes. If you do find
