Hello, this is my first time here, but you all are so knowledgeable, I hope you can help. Earlier today, while browsing after reading Bodhran Tips, I fell into an Irish news site and learned of the death of Connie Ryan, one of the great set dancers in the world. The article was quite lengthy with biography, testimonials, news reportage, photos, etc. I danced with him once in l996 and have never forgotten him. Now, I can't find the site or URL anywhere. Please, can someone out there help me. Many thanks. Sheila

If you can find access to 'The Set Dancer' magazine, Issue No.5 for 1998, there are articles from page 3-16 on 'Connie Ryan Remembered' together with a description of the funeral mass and the Oration delivered at the graveside. A splendid man!

Dear Sorcha and bigJ,

That's IT!!!!!! You are both phenomenal! My deepest thanks and appreciation. One day, maybe we'll meet in a Caledonian set, which I'll muster through, thanks to Connie who gave me one of those broad grins and said, "Mighty!" in that special Irish way, encouraging me, a pathetic novice. Thanks again.
