Subject: Frivolty: A Wager From: harpgirl Date: 02 May 00 - 10:43 AM I am still not convinced that "Kelida" is " A SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL." So, if someone can prove to me beyond a shadow of a doubt that "she" is who "she" claims to be, I will donate $50 to Max and check myself into the NYCFTTS. Lord knows I can use a rest. (That, my dear Amos is at the bottom of my post to the thread you spent at least five minutes flaming me on.) Let me point out that the thread in question qualifies in my book as a "troll." You know I am having so much fun stirring up trouble, I might just continue to do it!!!!!hahahahahahah |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Allan C. Date: 02 May 00 - 10:48 AM Pay up, Harpgirl. I have met Kelida/Bridget in the flesh. She is who she proports to be. Your reservation at the NYCFTTS is being confirmed at this moment. |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Sorcha Date: 02 May 00 - 10:48 AM Better get your checkbook out, because there are pictures on the way, from Allan's gig.......... |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Allan C. Date: 02 May 00 - 10:51 AM I'll tell you more as soon as I figure out what "proport" means ;-) |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Allan C. Date: 02 May 00 - 11:13 AM Kelida and her friend Erica were both at the gig that David C. and I played near Cincinnati a couple of weeks ago. If Kelida is not a seventeen-year-old, then I have never seen or been one. Kelida drew a handsome dragon on the paper tablecloth where the two of them sat. The two were sweet enough to take pictures and tape record the event. I also took a picture of the two of them together and one of Kelida by herself. The pictures just came back from being developed. I will soon be sending copies to Kelida. Then, if she deems either one to be a good enough picture, she might choose to send it to the resource page where we can all see it. I will soon do the same with a picture of me. |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: GUEST,Roger the skiffler Date: 02 May 00 - 11:15 AM Will that be a private ward,Madam? Or join the rest of the Oral-podiatry patients? Do you have Medicare? RtS [Senior bedpan executive,& admissions officer, NYCFTTS] |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: harpgirl Date: 02 May 00 - 11:30 AM ...Allan, your proof doesn't count for obvious reasons......Hell, I'm going to NYCFTTS anyway; you wackos are driving me to it. (NO, it's a short putt!) And I only want Dr. Peterson for a visitor. pppfffttt!!!!!Check me in Roger! |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: catspaw49 Date: 02 May 00 - 11:43 AM I'm sorry I didn't make the Cincy gig, but as Allan says Harpster, he does have pictures and as you know, Allan is a trustworthy fella' and you'll probably be meeting him soon on his trip as he's staying with Moon and I know he hopes to get together with you too. I'm sorry, but you'll have to wait on the Insanevac Chopper because the crew is heavily booked picking up all those weirdos on the "Singin' in the Loo" thread. The Skiff will, however, have your room prepared and a tiple waiting. Bring an autozither along if you like, but be assured it will slow down the treatment process. Where shall I have them pick you up? Will you be running nekkid along the river of what? Would you like to bring Dr. Boom along? The chopper has accomodations for up to four patients, but the flute fanatic may be assigned to a different wing, the one with the nose flute choir. On the plus side, you CAN eat lunch together. Does Moon want to come along? Spaw |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: catspaw49 Date: 02 May 00 - 11:48 AM ...........and cough up the 50 clams. When Night Owl sprang for 40 bucks on that simple ass moustache tuner, I ponied up another 50 to Max for playing along. Will that be in the form of a check? Or would you prefer to call Max with a credit card number? Spaw |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Sorcha Date: 02 May 00 - 11:49 AM Pray tell, WHY does it matter what/who you think Kelida is? What do you want, a certified/notarized birth certificate? And explain please, why it really is any business of yours. And just why does Allan's eyewitness evidence not count? What "obvious" reasons? somebody put a burr under your saddle again? |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Amos Date: 02 May 00 - 11:52 AM Gee, Harp, I didn't think I had started any flaming. I was just venting some protest against what I perceived as a kind of injustice. Lemme know when you get out, we'll talk if you want to. Watch out for that chopper pilot on your trip, though -- he has spells when his meds run low and he kind of falls back into his 'Nam period. Use seat belt provided.:>) |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: GUEST Date: 02 May 00 - 12:30 PM Big Time Woman, heal thyself. Can't say that I can help with the wager, but I still like the Leon Redbone tune you sung through Voizmail. Neil Lowe (from 'way out West) |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: kendall Date: 02 May 00 - 12:35 PM FYI spaw, in this state, to "cough up clams" is something one would not do at the table. |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: harpgirl Date: 02 May 00 - 02:32 PM ...still no proof!!!Just as I thought! But I'm going to NYCFTTS if I have to wear a beanie copter cap to get there. I've had ENOUGH!!! I'm WIGGING OUT! It's even too late for herbal therapy!!!! Watch out 'Spaw you might get kicked in the head while I'm flying over your house! And, everyone on this thread has shown their true colors!!!(get the hint, SORCHA???) I'm beyond help Neil....I'm suing Max for causing all this mental distress! Where's Paddymac???? |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: GUEST,Roger the skiffler Date: 02 May 00 - 03:13 PM Did 'Spaw warn you about the blanket bath? I'll just test the water... RtS[In your dreams, matey!] |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: katlaughing Date: 02 May 00 - 03:13 PM Harpgirl, I was going to send you a personal message, but when I looked up your name to send to, two harpgirls came up, one had a "*" at the end of it. Which one is the correct one for you? I was just going to say, I think this was in bad taste, considering the recent history of identity thefts, flamers, and trolls we've had in the threads. In fact, it sounds as though you were trolling by starting this thread. I think it is a shame you decided to single out someone who apprarently has not caused you nor any other Mudcatters any harm. If you meant it all as tongue-in-cheek, it didn't come across that way. As for any true colors being shown, it seems paranoia/distrust is one of yours. kat

Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Amos Date: 02 May 00 - 03:16 PM Actually I think the wigging out while frothing at the mouth is funny as hell, assuming that it isn't genuine! :>) A |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: katlaughing Date: 02 May 00 - 03:48 PM I doubt it was so funny to Keli. |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Wesley S Date: 02 May 00 - 04:14 PM "Let me politely say that this topic is inappropiate to this forum and is an example of what has degraded it. Please take your personal problems to a qualified therapist" Just kidding - Wesley {who sometimes tries to make a joke out of everything} |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: harpgirl Date: 02 May 00 - 05:25 PM ..sod off SORCHA! You sing like a frog! And you, kat laughing are a self-righteous monopolizing troll! you've stirred up more **** at the Mudcat with your provocative behavior than I ever will! and Amos, I think you are a weanie. Every time you say something mean you end up backpeddling! Get a backbone! I'm getting my copter hat and riding off into the sunset! Talk to my attorney if you have any other complaints!!!!!!!! |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Sorcha Date: 02 May 00 - 05:38 PM Huh. She still did not answer what I consider to be civil, legitimate questions. "Sod off" what? I know I sing like a frog, that's not news to me.And no, I don't "get it". What is to "get"? What is "it"? Ya'll suppose she'll really sue? Like I said, huh. |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Mbo Date: 02 May 00 - 07:42 PM No wait Harpgirl! Stay and sing us a song first, PLEEEEZE?? Like the Scotsman or something? Maybe play the harp? C'mon! You never get played on Mudcat Radio, and I WANT MY HARPGIRL AND I WANT HER NOW!!! --Mbo |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Gary T Date: 02 May 00 - 07:50 PM I can't help but wonder, are we hearing from the original, genuine harpgirl? |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Amos Date: 02 May 00 - 09:28 PM Right, harp. What I really should do is crush people with invective, and then make it stick for a real long time, so they really get how wrong they are, and feel really bad and depressed, and hopefully stop communicating. Trouble is, see, unlike a number of medication-challenged muff-faced mule-brained multi-personality mainly malicious mulletheads in this part of the forest, I happen to like seeing people communicate. Present company excepted, of course...Just a personal preference, an idiosyncracy in favor of life. 'Course, I know the difference between communication and shit. |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: harpgirl Date: 02 May 00 - 10:10 PM ...OH BUDDHA! What have I gone and done now!!Please please please, community--forgive me for my HORRIBLY RUDE behavior...I apologize to everyone I have offended. I don't know what has gotten into me! I'm not myself! I'm so sorry! harpgirl |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Sourdough Date: 02 May 00 - 11:24 PM I guess I tuned in late. I heard Harpgirl play th eother night on Hear Me and she was wonderful. I always enjoy Amos's thoughtful, informative posts. What is this thread about? How did this awful argument get started? How did mild kat get involved? (These are only rhetorical questions - Please don't try to answer them). I can't believe that but that there is some sort of terrible misunderstanding going on and that soon all this verbal miasma will blow away, kind of like the family squabbles that used to break out at Thanksgiving and other holidays. Most of the invective was soon forgotten. I hope so. Sourdough |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Sorcha Date: 02 May 00 - 11:33 PM I am not offended, just a tad confused, here.........And sorry if I have offended, I'm just trying to sort things out........? Was this a joke and we took it wrong? Back to "no body language in text?" |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Rick Fielding Date: 02 May 00 - 11:34 PM Howdy folks. Being a bit of a gambler, I noticed this thread and thought I'd stop by to see what you were all wagerin' about. Figured it might be about the spelling of "frivolity" or sumthin' Holy Sheeeeeit! Feets get me outta here! Rick (trying to find a "chord" or "Elian" thread, fast!) |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Amos Date: 02 May 00 - 11:37 PM Well, anyone who prays to Buddha is certainly doing something right. Even a weenie can appreciate that!
|
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Kelida Date: 02 May 00 - 11:45 PM Wow. I can't believe I missed this. . . Rick Fielding sent me a personal message about some sort of controversy over me, and I hadn't even noticed THIS. Wow. I am beyond words, speechless--and it isn't very often that I, Bridget K. McKinney, dob 10-07-1982, am struck dumb. Wow. . . I have sent Harpgirl a personal message (over a week ago, I think) explaining about me, even citing some personal information, but I see that has been ignored. I don't know what else to do. Harpgirl--I still am clueless as to what I ever did to offend you, and I still wonder about my original question to you--What exactly about me has made you doubt my age, gender, whatever? Also, did this really warrant its very own thread? In a way I'm actually flattered, but I am also a bit worried about your obsession with this. You berate me for a thread I start that is at least somewhat music-related, although it is clearly labeled BS, but then you start a thread that is a direct personal attack against me. What gives? Peace--Keli |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Sorcha Date: 03 May 00 - 01:10 AM Amos--you forgot the Sho-Rap Tribal Council!! How could you?? and Keli, don't take it personal, honey. Happens to all of us eventually. The rest of us believe you. |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: wysiwyg Date: 03 May 00 - 01:24 AM Personally, I am going to follow some great advice I got once-- Take people at the face value of what they say. It always seems to get better once you start there. Harpgirl, I HearYou. I'm sorry too. And guys? Don't pick on any autoharp players when I'm around, it's Fri-volting. ~S~ |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: alison Date: 03 May 00 - 03:59 AM Further up Kat mentioned using the personal messages...... I think you should have...... (use both names if you have to...) this sort of stuff isn't good for the 'cat... take it off into the personals or chat rooms please..... slainte alison |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: Bert Date: 03 May 00 - 10:57 AM I'm with you on that one Praise. I'd like to add though that at Mudcat, if a message could POSSIBLY be interpreted as a joke then take it as a joke. Bert. Don't forget we're all friends here. |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: wysiwyg Date: 03 May 00 - 11:05 AM Bert, yeah! MY autoharp makes ALL kinds of sounds, all kinds of music, all kinds of places, for all kinds of reasons. Should we be surprised when a Harp Girl is the same? I HeardHer at HearMe and it changed everything. I don't think fights ought to go to PM's anymore, where they can arrow is so deep you can hardly get the barb back out without help. No, I think the squabbles oughtta go to HearMe, where the music can do what only music can. And where the messaging is fast enough to promptly un-stick a jest taken too hard, and where affection and respect flourish now on nearly a nightly basis along with the best music I've heard, all played fresh for friends. ~Susan~ |
Subject: RE: Frivolty: A Wager From: The Shambles Date: 03 May 00 - 02:05 PM Well the use of Hear Me is a good suggestion but using that method or personal messages must be better than the far too blunt method of the public forum. It does work, please persevere with it All my best wishes go to you. We need you all.
