Subject: wildcat or boastful logger song
From: Jacob B

We've all heard the expression that someone could "lick his weight in wildcats". Does anyone know of a song that uses the expression?

Alternatively, does anyone know of a song in which a logger boasts about how powerful (virile, dangerous) he is?

I'm trying to come up with an appropriate song to accompany a story about Jigger Johnson, who was a logger-turned-trapper whose idea of fun was to catch wildcats barehanded. (Sure, he got clawed up. He didn't care. He just made up for the lost fluid by drinking whiskey.)

Any suggestions?

Nothing concrete at the moment, but remember several "Paul Bunyan" songs from childhood, and there was one about "something-or-other joe" who was a keelboat pilot. I think that one DID have something about wildcats in it...

As for boastful songs there's the Shantyman and Frozen Logger (although the latter song is in through the eyes of his lover). Best of luck to you.

good! I couldn't believe it wasn't out there somewhere. My brain cell must have failed somewhere while searching...

Anyway, there are a bunch of songs out there SOMEWHERE similair to the one Joe has above, which are somewhat appropriate
