Subject: Irish Song Dixie Land re:23 Maine From: InOBU Date: 22 May 00 - 07:26 AM Anyone know the song My name is ? from the 23rd Maine (forget) and the Brits would hang me for a Fenian so Scraps of this song have been going through my head since a friend sang it, who was shy on the words half the time... the chorus is we are all going down to Dixie Land. |
Subject: RE: Irish Song Dixie Land re:23 Maine From: Midchuck Date: 22 May 00 - 09:41 AM The title is simply, "Dixieland." It was written by Steve Earle. It appears on the CD Steve did with Del McCoury and his band a year or two ago, called, "The Mountain." We do it in D, but play Cherokee Shuffle on the fiddle in A, once through, before and after. Makes a nice "frame" for it. Peter. |
