Can any one tell me where I can find copies of Eric Bogle's songbooks? I believe there are 2.

According to his homepage, here,, they are both out of print. You are probably going to have to haunt used book sales, or try to find someone who actually owns them.

Thanks, Sorcha. I'd already been "there". I was hoping somebody out there has one collecting dust in the attic.

Have you tried bookfinder.com? I've really had good luck with out of print stuff thru them.

Try again, just went there, and found a copy for 9.15. It is a 16 page booklet. I'll go back and get the booksellers address for ya.

I'm suprised to hear they are out of print. I bought 2 last year in Truro, Cornwall and this afternoon saw a copy in Hobgoblins newest shop in Wadebridge. I can give you an address and telephone number if that is any use. Regards Baz

They used to be available through Larrakin Publishing, which I think was sold to Music Sales some years ago. don't know if that company has since been sold or is still going.

Thanks everybody. I started following up on some of your leads and at one of my stops along the way found out that Eric will be in my neighborhood during the summer. Love this site!

My chum Dave Foster (not the rich and famous musician) published an early book of Eric's songs (with Eric's permission), and may have some left. I don't know offhand what he's charging (but it's Canadian dollars, so it'd be inexpensive for the rest of you). His email address is 31650311@3web.net.

G'day,

Bugsy: I know they started out with Larrikin Publishing ... I remember arguing points of design philosophy with the designer of the first one - back in the early 80s!.

Since then, Warren Fahey (Chief Larrikin) has gone off in other directions. He certainly sold the Larrikin Record label to Festival and I did hear that larger publishers picked up the Bogle books.

Regards,

BobBolton

Came across this forum as I have found a book titled, The Songs of Eric Bogle (23 Songs), 61 pages on my shelves. If anyone is interested, you can contact me via email - smcbookandsheet@gmail.com (ask for Brian)

He is one of those generous songwriters who puts his lyrics on his website, tho' obviously if you are going use them commercially, you should ask for the usual permissions.
If you don't know the tunes, buy the CDs!
