Myself and most of the clan are traveling to Jacksonville next week. Will be there Monday 19th through Sunday. Can anyone advise of the folk scene, sessions or jams or Mudcatters in residence in that area? Thanks in advance for your time. Cheers, Fortunato

Check the Friends Of Florida Folk (FOFF) web site. They can let you know a lot about whats going on and may be able to give you a contact name.

Fortunato --

I'm a Jacksonville resident. Too bad you won't be here a bit earlier -- my band is having our CD release party on Sunday (in Cocoa, Florida). Jacksonville doesn't have a terrific folk scene -- but fortunately, you'll be close enough to St. Augustine to drive there in about 45 minutes...I'll do some checking on local events for next week and let you know...There is generally an open mic at the Fuel Coffee house on Wednesdays (west side of Jax), and frequently decent concerts at European Street on Thursdays (south bank of Jax)... Sunday evening from 5 - 8 pm is a sure thing at the St. Francis Inn in St. Augustine. So, What's bringing you to Jacksonville??? No one ever comes here for fun.....

Paul

Paul.

We have relatives in Orange Park. Yeah we can make it to St. Augustine I think. Thanks for the tips.

Cheers, Fortunato

Thanks, harp girl, I saw that. I was a little reluctant to go cold to someone's house, do you make it and would it be appropriate for us to just show up? Will the Suwannne Park jam on this Saturday the 24th of June? Thanks, fortunato

FORTUNATO!

Just in case you can get on line now that you're down here...Here's whats happening Thursday nite: Dearest Music Fans: At Hacking Cat, we are always full of surprises ... and here's another one. At the last minute we lucked out and were able to get Peter Mulvey to play this Thursday. For those of you who pay attention, Mulvey has appeared in the Listening Room twice and met with rave reviews. His new CD, too, has been receiving a lot of notice -- including a review by CMJ, referring to his acoustic style "that encompasses the groove-based approach of Dave Matthews with the hard-edged rhythm of Ani DiFranco."

So, join us this Thursday, June 22 at 8:30 p.m., and in the meantime, check out his website at Peter Mulvey Website. And while you're at it, check out our brand spankin' new website too Hacking Cat Website.

For reservations, call us at 399-1740. See you Thursday!

Kerry
