Hallo all, on our Independisday 17.of June a Big earthquake sriked South Iceland it was 6.5 on richter scale, no one got hurt but many buildings got damage. There are many earthquakes still goin on and they are telling us on the radio that we can expect more big earthquakes next five or six days.My family and I are alright a little shaky but we are Okei. more later, all the best skarpi Iceland.

Skarpi, hold on! I'm wishing all the best for you and the lovely land of Iceland. I spent one hour in the airport there in 1978 and wished I could have stayed a few days!

Skarpi, glad to hear you're well. I also live on a volcanic island (Hawaii) and know earthquakes well. Fortunately we have had no big ones since moving here but it's just a matter of time. I wish you and your family good luck and good health.

Thank you all, last night they told on the radio that we could expect one earthquake 7.0 on richter next two weeks or so, that is a sronger one than came last saturday. It is on the air by people mouth, the headmaster of heathendom in Iceland was gonna give the viking ship Icelander a farwell gift but the christian people they stopped him and told him to go away, so the Thor and Odinn got angry and Thor stapped the hammer down to the earth and maid the earthquake well , we kind of are making joke about it. But am I a christian soul I still wonder..? All the best skarpi Iceland.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The second earthquake in four days hit Iceland early Wednesday and was felt throughout the island nation, the U.S. Geological Survey said. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries. The geological survey said the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 6.6, the same as Saturday afternoon's shock, and struck 45 miles east-southeast of Reykjavik, the capital, also like the last.

The quake occurred 6.2 miles below ground, which scientists characterized as "very shallow." It hit at 12:51 a.m. local time.

Saturday's temblor caused some electrical and water outages. Before the past two quakes, the last event of that size took place in Iceland in 1910.

Iceland, where there are many active volcanoes, frequently experiences minor earthquakes.

Kat, It was 1912 that was a earthquake witch was 7.1. At the moment they are telling us that the earthquakes are moving west so we can expect one aftershock at 6.o or stronger in the bluemountains witch is not far from the capital Reykjavík. so if it strike it realy shows us how good or bad our houses are. I am getting bored of all thouse earthquakes and I wish that I coult take my familiy away from all this for a year or two. All the best skarpi Iceland.
