Steve recorded this on decca in 1967 the record is called
Of Situations and Predicaments, LK 4881.

I heard a recording of this song in the 70s, done by some band with English accents (that's all I remember - I think it was on an 8-track). Anyone know who might have recorded it?

Great little story about a lord who goes away to the Crusades and leaves his lady fair "locked up," so to speak.
