I just heard a song called Jack Hall. It was very similar to one that I know called Sam Hall (Oh, my name it is Sam Hall, chimney sweep, I'm a chimmney sweep) But had several different verses.

Does anyone know the lyrics to Jack Hall? If you do, do you know which came from which?

Check in the threads, April 8 I posted the words & backround, Jack Hall, small time thief , hung in the same year as Captain Kidd, who also has the same tune, also used for Ye Jacobites By Name Barry.

I checked the thread. Thanks. I'm actually looking for yet another version of lyrics to Jack Hall. I remember a verse about flowers on the table and another about candles. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Dick,

Thanks for the lead. The version I heard seemed to be a mix of Sam Hall and Tallow Candles/Song of a Doomed Man. I'm going to have to add some of these lyrics in to my Sam Hall version. Any info on which song begat which song (the jest of both is almost identical and many of the verses are the same with a couple different words).
