Subject: lyrics to Jack Hall? From: Jon Baade (baade@execpc.com) Date: 18 Jul 97 - 11:25 AM I just heard a song called Jack Hall. It was very similar to one that I know called Sam Hall (Oh, my name it is Sam Hall, chimney sweep, I'm a chimmney sweep) But had several different verses. Does anyone know the lyrics to Jack Hall? If you do, do you know which came from which? Thanks in advance. |

I'm actually looking for yet another version of lyrics to Jack Hall. I remember a verse about flowers on the table and another about candles. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Thanks, Jon |

Subject: RE: lyrics to Jack Hall? From: Jon Baade Date: 20 Jul 97 - 08:38 PM Dick, Thanks for the lead. The version I heard seemed to be a mix of Sam Hall and Tallow Candles/Song of a Doomed Man. I'm going to have to add some of these lyrics in to my Sam Hall version. Any info on which song begat which song (the jest of both is almost identical and many of the verses are the same with a couple different words). Thanks again, Jon |
