Subject: The net, CDs, Sheet music, Sex and Swear From: GUEST,Mark (lost cookie not guest) Date: 25 Jul 00 - 10:40 PM I recently requested lyrics and chords for 3 songs (all in different message posts) They were: 1) The Scottish tune/song "Musselburgh Fair (no lyrics or tune found)" (apparently the source tune for the Australian tune "Lachlan Tigers") 2)The Irish tune/song "Willy Reilly" (source tune for Australian song "Frank Gardiner") 3)The Irish Song/Tune "The Roscrea Cows" (source tune for "The Rabbiter's Song"). Now the issue is whether to continue searching the internet for free information on these tunes or to buy the CDs or Songbooks with the tunes on them. The internet can be much easier and cheaper but. . . Any thoughts? Anyone have the sheet music, midi files for the above? The swear words and sex mentioned in the subject were just to get you to read my message. ;) |
Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: The net, CDs, Sheet music, Se From: Joe Offer Date: 26 Jul 00 - 04:38 AM Well, Mark, I suppose our search engines can be a bit daunting at times. I changed all your song titles into clickable links. You'll find lyrics and tunes for all of them, if you follow the links I posted and the links within the threads. If you post a message in the thread for the song and ask for help with chords, you might get help. If you don't get help right away, post a new message in the thread a few days later, with just the word "refresh" in the message body if you have nothing to add. We try to help with requests as much as we can and we do post chords upon request, but we don't post chords here as a matter of common practice. You can take our tunes and run them through a program like ABCMUS and generate fairly decent chords. You may also want to try JC's Tune Finder (click). Hope that helps. -Joe Offer- |
