Subject: SWAN-Fest on the radio tonight. From: Rick Fielding Date: 31 Jul 00 - 03:55 PM I just received the "Oak, Ash and Thorn" CD compilation today, and I think I'll play a number of cuts tonight on Acoustic Workshop. Our esteemed Mudcatter (and seriously nice guy, Dave Swan is singing tenor.) Also, guesting, is Mike Phillips, a seasoned Brit who in a long soundman career hung out and worked for a lot of bands like ELO and Pink Floyd. He should have some good stories. These days I think you just have to dial up WWWCIUT (or something like that), anyway it's 7pm Toronto time on 89.5 fm. If anyone can do the show's "blue clicky" I'd appreciate it, but please don't start another thread. Thanks. Rick |

Subject: RE: SWAN-Fest on the radio tonight. From: catspaw49 Date: 31 Jul 00 - 08:23 PM Sorry Tony....I dropped off the 'Cat in the hopes of improving reception tonight. It could have been better. The show was different and really fun to listen in as Rick and Mike discussed someexperiences. Meebo should have been tuned in for the ELO info!!! Thatks for the cuts from Dave's "Oak, Ash, & Thorn." SOunded great, even with the congestion. Spaw |
Subject: RE: SWAN-Fest on the radio tonight. From: Rick Fielding Date: 31 Jul 00 - 09:02 PM Congestion? Shit! T'was fun. Oak Ash and Thorn sound great, and Mike Phillips really knows his stuff. Gonna have him on again in two weeks. He's going to bring down some taped examples of some of the stuff we talked about. Rick |
Subject: RE: SWAN-Fest on the radio tonight. From: Mbo Date: 31 Jul 00 - 09:08 PM Dang I missed this thread! Now why didn't someone start one with "ELO" in the title? :-) What did he say about ELO? Besides that they rule. --Matt |
Subject: RE: SWAN-Fest on the radio tonight. From: Rick Fielding Date: 31 Jul 00 - 09:20 PM MBO, he told me (off air) about some interesting parties, but mainly that he thought they were a very professional and knowledgable band. He'll be talking more about his adventures two weeks from now. He's from Coventry and has a wonderful sense of humour. Think I want to get to know him better. Rick |
Subject: RE: SWAN-Fest on the radio tonight. From: Dave Swan Date: 31 Jul 00 - 09:50 PM I had no idea this was going to happen. Thanks, Rick. I hope we were able to supply some worthwhile cuts. Doug is in Ireland, Tom is off flying, and p.j.'s at music camp, so I'm enjoying this mention (having missed the show)in solitude. I'm now going to buy myself a drink. Cheers, D |
