Help: County Cork in October

I'm a 5-string banjo picker (old time Appalachian styles and traditional American songs mostly) who will be in County Cork, Ireland from mid-October through the first week of November. Home base while we're there will be the Beara peninsula. Can anybody recommend any pubs in that vicinity where visitors might be able to jam or swap songs with the locals?

McCarthy's of Baltimore. Also try De Barras in Clonakilty and they won't kick you out in Connollys in Leap (pronon. LEP) either.

Cork City is a bit distant from the Beara Peninsula, but if you are passing through, try the Corner House Bar in Coburg Street. They have a very good blue-grass session there once a week (sorry, can't remember which night, regular trad sessions other week nights. The Spailpín Fánach in South Main Street is another good bar for sessions. Enjoy you visit.

corner house session in coburg street is on Monday night. Lee Valley String band are usually there
