A short story is a good way to begin. I love reading short stories!

My favorite way to begin a short story is to go to sleep thinking about what I want to write, then when I wake up in the morning I grab some paper and write down whatever I have in my head. It may fit the story, or I may save it to use in a different story.

Post it here. There are a few people reading what you write, ya know? One lady just wrote and she hopes you'll actually do something about writing a story. Many great writers started when they were very young. Perfection is not the name of the game. Writing is. Tell your story. You have a neat sense of humour, and certainly you have a way with words. I'm sure a few people will drop in to trade some words with you. But remember, the bad words gotta get left out, OK?

Yes, I am. What are you doing on your vacation? OH, yeah. Here is a link to one of the great American writers. The book is called "Tom Sawyer". It is a great story. Try reading a bit. I'm pretty sure you could borrow one from your public library..

I think a book would be great, but it's kinda like eating a wahle, ya know? One bite at a time. Try out writing a short story first.

I am going to another city to do some work. But I don't want to discuss it on a public forum. I hope you're not offended.

As to the story, why not start on it? Some stories I wrote took me a long time--but I'm a slow writer. You may be, also. But you'll never know unless you give it a shot.

It could be. OK, little buddy. I have to get. I'm getting tired and have to hie myself on home. Would you please write the story or at least plan how you'd want the story to go? I'd be really interested in reading it. I think you have a great sense of humour, and with a little work on a few expressions with which you may be too familiar, you could become a humourist much like Mark Twain. I should tell you now that I will be away for ten days or so from Thursday until Sunday (about), so I'll be outta touch. If I can get to an internet cafe I'll try to look in a few times.

Have you read any Mark Twain?

Get your ideas down and get them down quick(ly). Maybe it'll be another American classic. Stories have to start somewhere, and so do writers.

Cookie: That may have been what went through the worms mind, but maybe the reader won't want to see the word, ya know? Some folks get real sensitive about that stuff. Especially from an eleven-year-old. Besides, if worms had mouths, his ma or pa might want to wash it out with soap.

Hey, man, from little acorns big oak trees grow. You know how big the fish was, but that doesn't HAVE to be the size of the fish. I mean to say, when you write the story, the fish could have pulled you into the lake, right?

Farley Mowat, a good Canadian author, said that all writers have a bit of the 'liar' in them. And who's the fish gonna tell? It's really between you and the pen. StoSome stories contain enough truth to be real and enough fantasy to be interesting.

I only ever caught one fish that was big enough to eat and I let it go. It was a pike. From a lake in Quebec.

WOW. Did you eat them for supper? I used to fish a bit when I was your age. Caught a pike once, and some perch and sun fish. I've never caught a bass. I don't fish anymore, but I enjoy eating fish.

my day has been pretty good. I went fishing and caught four fish. I caught two small large mouth bass. my dad caught a small catfish,and a bluegill

Die Ärtzte are pretty odd - even for most people here. I think the video was more poking fun at themselves. It starts with the smug, macho sentiments and then has them running for their lives when it turns out that the woman is the sharpshooter and cool dude etc... They are pretty weird though, I'll give you that!
