Subject: Answer to Gipsie's Warning & Decision From: Dewey Date: 10 Sep 00 - 07:10 AM The Gypsy's Warning comes in three parts: the first part (posted here), the answer (which can be found at pdmusic.org), and the last part: the decision which was given to me by an elderly lady in Ohio (which I carelessly lost!). She also sang a different melody than the one most people know (sounds kind of Celtic). The melody she sang I now know well and can share with anyone interested. Anyway, if anyone knows the DECISION part please respond here. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Answer to Gipsie's Warning & Decisio From: dick greenhaus Date: 10 Sep 00 - 01:57 PM Actually all three parts are in DigiTrad, Harry Peters, in his fine book Folk Songs Out of Wisconsin, lasted all three as one song, since he had heard them all to the same tune. The Gypsy's Warning is verses 1-4; Do Not Heed is verses 5-7 and the rest is The Decision. If you know another melody for the second and third parts, send it in. |
