A friend is looking for the lyrics to a song called "The Innocent Prisoner." He says it begins something like "On a bright starry night that two lovers/They were happy and carefree and gay...." Sound familiar? Thanks. Margaret

O Margaret. I spent hours yesterday searching...starry night, prisoner, innocent.....even happy and carefree and gay!!!! Still no luck......I'm sure somebody will come up with it eventually if we keep the thread around.

All I could find was reference to a 78(rpm) recording of 'The New 21 Years / Innocent Prisoner' by Frank Luther at worldwidewax

Don't know if this is the same song, but it might give you an extra lead.
