Subject: You believe in Ern Malley?! From: Lena Date: 28 Sep 00 - 02:45 AM Now,would you believe this???! But it's 100% true, and it's the subject of a musical I've been working at(lighting, not acting,of course...)this week.Laughing a lot.As the narrator puts it,none of the three poets involved in this weird story are famous now. While the invented, never existed one has a secure place in any antology of modern Australian Poetry. Another weird joke of the same kind I can think of is Max Aub's one,in Portugal(or Mexico?!).He made up this painter and started reviewing him.Soon he divided the critic world. Some critics would love him, others despise him.Of course none of these critics had seen any works and all of them didn't feel any good when they were told that they's been arguing about...no one.Have fun... |
Subject: RE: BS: You believe in Ern Malley?! From: GUEST,JTT Date: 28 Sep 00 - 02:14 PM Not to be confused with Ernie O'Malley, IRA writer and activist, who wrote The Singing Flame and On Another Man's Wound, and wasn't a bad man for bursting indicative seed himself; he worked with Eisenstein in Mexico and, I think, with O'Flaherty in Aran. |
