My Mom used to sing a song and she lost the words or forgot them. All she remembers of the song are the words "Jim Blake, Jim Blake your wife is dying, came over the wires tonight". She has been trying for probably 15 years or more to get the words and noone seems to have them. Also when someone to types in a lyric how do you make it look like the way you typed it. I mean instead of it all kind of coagulating together. Hope someone has the words it is a song I think she would really like to sing again. She is pretty good at remembering songs and she used to sing that one but she remembers that it was a very sad song and people would get sad with the song.

That's Jim Blake's Message. Some while back, I said I would post it if anyone wanted it ~~ you are the first to ask. I will get it out later today.

SH, that is one of the Carter Family Decca recordings that Jim Dixon started posting some months ago. I will put it in the thread with the rest of that group

Thank-you very much my Mom really was touched to see the lyrics to "Jim Blake's Message". She likes the Carter Family as well. I hope the record is available and not overly expensive. Is there any hope someone can put a midi up with the rhythm because over the years she has forgotten the rhythm to it. It is wonderful that people are willing to put such effort into preserving these songs from a few years back.

Available yes, also overly expensive, I am afraid. I just got my set of the complete Carter Family for $190, BUT count on paying at least $225, maybe more most places. I am way busy now ~~ off to volleyball practice, then a birthday party, but I MAY put it up temporarily later tonight.

Here it is. This is a DIRECT link to the Real Audio sound file. There are no links to the song on my web page, it is only accessible from here. Jim Blake's Message

Recorded by the Carter Family on June 17, 1937. Actually, I have another version that I like even better, believe it or not. It is on an album by Jane Voss ~~ a lovely album that should have been re-released on CD, but wasn't. I may put it up later if I ever find the album and have the time.
