I know that Dick Greenhaus created the Digital Tradition banjo image that appears on the Mudcat t-shirts. And I know that Max retains proprietorship over the various manifestations of the image of the catfish jumping out of the banjo. But who created it? Who had the original concept? Who actually did the artwork? Was it originally created in digital form or was it a painting which was digitalized? Why a banjo?

I will open the floor for conjectures while we await the actual answers from Max. (Unless, of course, one of you actually knows the true answers.)

There you go stirring up them muddy waters and disturbing the bottem feeders! I think this was discussed in an earlier thread, but I can't seem to find it at the moment.

Am I the only one who would like to see the fish jumping free of the water, and not half-way in? Makes him look a bit stumpy.Sorry for the sacrilege...

Well, I thought that when I made the MudCat quilt, but has anybody ever seen a catfish jumping clear? Like a bass? And, I LOVE the catfish idea--so many connotations. Not like a bass jumping or fighting a plug.

And who gets the credit for the overall design of the site? It's a marvel of clarity and simplicity, runs in any browser, even on Linux, and actually looks good too. Brilliant.

Cheers,

Catrin

Nope - You're wrong! Al Gore designed it, right after he invented the internet.

Max answered the question on the radio show last night. He said that "a kid" who lived across the street from him created a few different pen and ink drawings at Max's request. The catfish/banjo was one of them. Max said he cleaned it up a little. Max, himself, did the coloring. Max admitted to having some remorse about never paying the kid the hundred dollars which Max had offered.

Let me just say, "Thanks, kid!"
