Julie London actress and singer has died in hospital aged 74. She will probably be best remembered for the song "Cry Me a River" which was a hit in 1957 and reached the charts again in 1983. Film fans will recall her in such movies as "Man of the West" (1951) and "The George Raft Story" (1962) among others.

My x-husband longed (lusted?) after her; and I'm sure he is grieving the loss. He was in the Navy when Cry Me a River came out and he never got over it. I'm sure that is true of a lot of other lonesome people. Rest in Peace, Julie London.

Ebbie

She was one of the few who sounded as good on the record as she looked on the album cover--

Cry Me A River was my all time favorite Guitar/Vocal duet-She and Barney Kessel recorded a number of other cuts in that same vein, none were hits, but all were great--I would love to have a CD of that stuff--
