Subject: Music Project funding sources? From: Max Tone Date: 27 Oct 00 - 10:43 AM Any of you knowledgeable folks out there got info on national, or international, foundations that shower loads of wonga upon deserving musos/organisations? I'm thinking of projects that promote or provide education in traditional/historical music/arts forms, produce commissioned works/performances or research, improve instrument design, and generally make acoustic music more accessible. I'm told the Gulbenkian Foundation are a likely tap, but the only website I can find is in Portugese! Any ideas? Rob |

Subject: RE: Music Project funding sources? From: Max Tone Date: 27 Oct 00 - 04:35 PM Sorry, talentcourt, I know I should have said Scotland, but I thought it better not to specify, so that folk in other parts of the world could pick up on useful info for their locality, too. A team of us in Edinburgh are looking at ways to improve the tradition arts profile in the area, but I'm sure there are folk all over the place who could also use National info on funders, as well as international foundations, like Gulbenkian. Scottish Arts Council are supportive, but most of their budget goes on ballet and opera! I tried artsjournal.com Cliky, but had little time to search through all the news items. Will try again. Any help much appreciated, Rob |
