There's a very different song in the database and in "Rise Up Singing" that has the same title. You'll find a recording of the song on "Never Grow Old," a terrific album by Anne Hills and Cindy Mangsen.
The song posted above is reminiscent of Peggy Lee's "You Gotta See Your Mama Every Night (Or You Can't See Mama At All)," which was posted in this forum a while back.
Does anybody know where I could get a recording of the "Lament" that's posted here?

Joe...if we can't find a recording if it, I have a tape of a friend singing it that I can copy for you...(does a good job, too...)I am not sure right now who recorded it commercially.

Yes, I also expected to see that other song, "...nothing is worth the time you take on it, nothing does last except trouble and dirt..."

Dennis says the song on this thread goes to the tune of Oro 's é do bheatha bhaile; the good news is that this tune is on Mudcat midis

I found a request for this song buried in a very old thread, but the thread was so confused, and covered so many songs that I thought it would be best to start a new thread for it.
