Subject: Frozen Fish!!!

The other evening myself and Mrs.Duck wre not quite watching the tellyvision - in particular not quite listening to the adverts. During this, there was an advert for frozen seafoods, with a voice singing "When the boat comes in". Just as it finished, both Jane and myself looked at each other with quizzical expressions on our faces. After a pause, Jane said "What were you about to say" and I replied "That voice on the advert sounded suspiciously like...", Jane finished my sentence "...Graham Pirt".
Does anyone out there know if it is him singing - it definitely sounds like Graham's voice, which we both think is one on the nicest sounding voices on the British folk scene.
Please satisfy our curiousity!
Quack

I thought the voice on the advert might be Alex Glasgow as I know he recorded the song some years ago, but I would much prefer it to be Graham --- he's such a nice guy

I was going to start a thread on this! I recognised the song as Dance Ti' Thy Daddy but am desperate to find out who's singing it. The power of advertising! I'll be eating more fish if they continue adverts like that.

I haven't heard Graham but I thought it might be Bob Davenport (of The Rakes fame)when I heard it. Didn't Alex Glasgow emigrate to Australia? Sounded a lighter voice than his. (but then what do I know about folksingers?!)

I haven't heard that one but it reminded me - have we already had the discussion on the concertina player on a trawler having his concertina cut in half and then carrying on regardless with a mouth organ?

Who was that guy? What was the advert for? - or can someone point me at the right thread?

Cheers

At the "Manstock" gathering bill/sables did not think that the advert voice was Graham Pirt, so I am even more curious who it might be.
Any ideas?

I haven't got the faintest idea whose the voice is, but I did like the advert, and several of my friends and I have commented that they should do more like that - not with irritating music, not Carol Vordemann, and not with the the silly Woolworth's theme. Bravo.
