I am a female singer of Irish music in St. Paul, MN. At present,I am in a band that is going nowhere. It was established over 25 years ago, with myself being the youngest member. The guys are tired, and I am just getting started. I have several friends within the Irish music community here, however, leads on other fresh talent (who are not commited exclusivly to other bands) have been few--and as you can see nothing has materialized. I have been sitting in a limbo for about a year.

If anyone knows of anyone who may be having a similar difficulty (in my geographical area of course) who would be interested in "talking", or if anyone has any advice......it would be greatly appreciated.

Eiraka and Peg - why don't all just move to Texas? We have lots of good music around here, some great clubs and festivals (North Texas Irish Festival is the second bigest in the US)and I am sure you'd find some good folks to join!

Seriously, I wish ya the best luck in finding a new home. I found a great band through the Mudcat, in a thread just like this one. They have also turned out to be great friends, and I am having a great time playing with them - so maybe you will be as lucky.

Hey Peg - same story in Boston here! Are you a singer in a band or looking for a band to join?
