Subject: Christmas in Killarney From: Alice Date: 03 Dec 00 - 01:17 PM I have the music in a song book for Christmas in Killarney. The credits are, "Words and Music by John Redmond, James Cavanaugh, and Frank Weldon" (not Stan Rogers as mentioned earlier in another thread - here are the lyrics). This copy has only one verse. Does anyone know if there are more verses? Alice |
Subject: Lyr Add: CHRISTMAS IN KILLARNEY^^ From: Quincy Date: 04 Dec 00 - 04:25 AM Hi Alice, Searched about twenty different sites with the lyrics on and couldn't find anymore verses than you already have..... Christmas In Killarney The holly green, the ivy green The prettiest picture you've ever seen Is Christmas in Killarney With all of the folks at home It's nice, you know, to kiss your beau While cuddling under the mistletoe And Santa Claus you know, of course Is one of the boys from home The door is always open The neighbours pay a call And Father John before he's gone Will bless the house and all How grand it feels to click your heels And join in the fun of the jigs and reels I'm handing you no blarney The likes you've never known Is Christmas in Killarney With all of the folks at home best wishes, Yvonne

Subject: Help: Christmas in Kilarney? or Killarney? From: Haruo Date: 04 Dec 02 - 02:26 AM I'm sitting here typing up the program for the church's Christmas Concert tomorrow night, and one of the items I'm supposed to type is Haruo Messages from multiple threads combined. |
Subject: RE: Christmas in Kilarney? or Killarney? From: Joe Offer Date: 04 Dec 02 - 03:08 AM Hi, Haruo - I checked www.ascap.com - "Christmas in Killarney" (spelling double-checked) was written by James CAVANAUGH, John REDMOND, and Frank WELDON. I wonder if my link will work. -Joe Offer- |
Subject: RE: Christmas in Killarney From: Haruo Date: 04 Dec 02 - 03:44 AM Thanks for adding my query to this thread, Joe. I hadn't done a thorough job of checking the Forum before I posted. Yeah, the link worked; I wonder what they mean by "Variations - Christmas is Killarney"... I would think that was just a typo, not something ASCAP would bother to catalog. Anyhow, I posted the entire program for tomorrow night's concert here and will welcome any additional corrections anybody can come up with within the next few hours before I go to press. And of course any Christmassy-feeling Mudcatters in the Seattle area are welcome to drop in. Haruo |
Subject: RE: Christmas in Killarney From: SharonA Date: 04 Dec 02 - 10:03 AM Haruo: I'm not sure how "few" hours there are (or were) before your press time, but I noticed a boo-boo in your program notes: TODAY is December 4th, not tomorrow! |
Subject: RE: Christmas in Killarney From: Haruo Date: 04 Dec 02 - 02:20 PM Thanks, Sharon. When I posted that it was still late on the 3rd here (though already the 4th Mudcat Time). The concert is now today, Dec. 4th. But by tomorrow, not only will the concert be history, but this post, immortalized in the archives, will have become another boo-boo! Haruo |
Subject: Chords/Lyrics/Authors: Christmas in Killarney From: Genie Date: 04 Dec 02 - 03:34 PM Here are the chords I use.* (They should show up in the right places, since I'm copying and pasting from the Page Source view in Netscape Composer.) Genie Christmas In Killarney (J. Redmond, J. Cavanaugh, and F. Weldon, 1950) C G7 C G7 C Am F/C C (Am) C Am F/C C (Am) F C (A) *Of course, I often screw up and sing "It's nice, you know, to kiss your beau while struggling under the mistletoe..."! ;-D |
Subject: RE: Christmas in Killarney From: SharonA Date: 04 Dec 02 - 04:23 PM Haruo: I was confused about your reference to going to press; I thought the "Tomorrow (December 4)" was part of the program you were printing. Obviously I was mistaken! Sorry I won't be able to attend your concert,, being on the East Coast and all, but I hope that all goes well and that you receive lots of food donations. Have fun! |
