My sister is getting married in two weeks. She has asked me to play and sing while she walks up the isle. Looking for suggestions.

How about the theme tune from the Titanic? They played it on the Air India Jumbo just as we were taking off from Bombay last week!!

Or there's always the one that Captain and Teneille made semi-famous... Called, The Wedding Song.

Nice, simple tune, and easy to sing... Also most people know the melody...

Good luck.

The one in DT as "Come write me down" is sometimes called "Wedding Song". On the Bodley Ballads website it's "Second thought is best".

How about "Wedding Day" by Sam Stone. This is one of

the most beautiful wedding songs I have ever heard.

Kate Wolf's Give yourself to Love is a nice one. I've also done things like Come By the Hills, Lord of All Hopefulness, I Live Not Where I Love

There's a beautiful song on the Jan Harmon "So Bravely Dream" cd entitled "Covenant." The chorus goes like this:
And I'll be near in the middle of the night
in case the moon awakes you
And I'll be near in the middle of the day
in case the sun forsakes you
And in an ideal world, that's the heart of a marriage, not that I would know -- I'm certainly not doing it a third time!

Best to your sister....

How religious this is wedding? In fact, what religion, if any, is involved?

For traditional Christian ceremonies, Paul Stookey's "Wedding Song" is always nice.

My suggestion is "My Only Love", a chart hit for the Statler Brothers 15+ years ago. Sweet, poignant, and right on topic. (In attempting to find the lyrics, I saw that there are many songs with this title. I am not familiar with the others. This one starts out "You and I were meant for one another.")

John J: That's "Come Write Me Down", as suggested by Bruce O. And yes, it would be my choice, too. Not that my planning a wedding would go down to well with my wife, but you know what I mean . .

In my opinion, go with the Double Indemnity version of "Beggars to God". It's an extremely romantic song, perfect for a wedding.

Here's Jan Harmon's wedding song, "Covenant."

https://www.harmonpublishing.com/jan/music/library/?songid=64

COVENANT
(Jan Harmon)

So .. what can we say that we haven't said before,
standing here together?
You .. like April knocking at my door
in bright September's weather.

CHORUS:
And I'll be near in the middle of the night,
in case the moon awakes you.
And I'll be near in the middle of the day,
in case the sun forsakes you.

Who knows here we go from here?
Who can see tomorrow?
I'll tie my shoe while you straighten up your hair,
and we'll walk through joy and sorrow.

CHORUS

OH! How this place rings loud with love ...
while dreams go spilling over!
To think .. you've traveled all this way
to be my friend and lover!

CHORUS
