Another "learned at school but can't find in DT DB":

There's a song about the gloomy ruins of an old castle, which I tended to assume was a translation because I was taught at least two full sets of lyrics for the same tune. Anyone have source or lyrics?

Part of one version went:

(long ago...)
Life was free from care.
Happiness was all around,
Flowers bloomed everywhere.

Now these (murfle) halls are dark,
Dreadful is the gloom
Round these ancient castle walls
