I am normally a banjo picker, but I really love to sing my favorite old songs for anyone or no one. I especially like to sing to my 4 year old grandaughter.

Any advice you Mudcatters can give, I will take.

Susan, our mutual friend Gene sent my some super tabs for Circle Driveway. He is a real help. Maybe soon I will send the a list of Jeepmans personal songs.

By the way the guitar is a Martin D15, and it pleases me very much. It is easy to finger pick and the sound is very good and will get much better.

Jeepman

Hello Jeepman. I would advise you to let that little girl strum while you handle the chords. My young relatives enjoy that.

And congratulations.

Marion

Jeepman, I bought Martin 32 years ago, and it will sound better and better. You'll never be sorry. Mike. P.S, I gotta Jeep to, and I love that also, but only expect 15 more from it.LOL

Mike, why do you only expect 15 more from your Jeep? Mine will be 60 next year and I expect it to keep going for a lot more.

I have TWO Martins -- one a pre-war parlor size -- and they BOTH sound better!

Spaw, the jeep is a '42 Ford GPW. Of course the only way to make a Ford run properly is t put a Chevy engine in it. In this case a '67 Chevy II 4-banger.Also has a Warn All-Range overdrive so I can surprise everyone by doing 75 on the freeway.

I didn't put the engine in it, I bought it that way. It's been modified in various ways over the last 60 years, but it's still an old flat fender and I love it.In places the paint has flaked off ( it's bright yellow) and the original olive drab shows through. The rust also shows through.

Rangeroger, sad as it is to say, because mine was built in the '90s, not the 40's. She's got 56k under her skirts, and I add about 27 more a year. She's a Cherokee, but a Sport so she looks like she should be carring fishing gear(which she does) and not golf clubs(which she don't). I'd love to leave her to my kids, but I'm a realist in non musical things. Mike. ps, sorry, also,Jeepman, but you started it in a way, and I do have that Martin (D35)LOL

Folks, my Jeep is a 1947 Willys cj2a.This is the first civilian production model. I spent 2 years restoring it. It is in original condition, no modifications.

Marion, I do let her bang on it while I chord. She loves it. Her favorite is "Big Rock Candy Mountain", sanitized version.

The guitar is a winner. No frills or bells and whistles, just that good Martin quality. Good nuff for me.

By the way, you can see my Willys at Willys of the Month. I think the site is www.oneclickcolorado.com. If this is incorrect, let me know and I will do better.

Thanks all. JMan

About once every two or three years, I say: "This guitar is all I was looking for. It's perfect. I'll never need another one. I'm not even going to look anymore."

Until the next time.

Could be worse. At least I'm that way with guitars instead of women.

Peter.

I sold my soul (well, a Simon and Patrick and a Washburn) recently for a Martin SPD16, and I love it too. My 1968 D18 is still with me, but enjoying a bit of retirement.

Like women and small daughters, guitars appreciate being loved and played with.

My 4x4 is a little more sybaritic - a Subaru Impreza Sport, but that won't still be around in 50 years.
