Subject: RE: story about mudcat From: Jeri Date: 11 Feb 01 - 02:54 PM Thanks Brendy. I remember the thread where Brian Ploskina asked for information/opinions for the article, and wondered if it had ever been published. Nice to know he got what he needed, then got it right. |
Subject: RE: story about mudcat From: katlaughing Date: 11 Feb 01 - 03:22 PM Thanks, Brendy. Last night I'd checked, he didn[t have it posted, yet. Did a pretty good job of it, too. |
Subject: RE: story about mudcat From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 11 Feb 01 - 03:49 PM Good little piece - and I'm glad he didn't get his back up when we came on a bit suspicious. Thank you Brian, if you call in back here to see the reaction.. |
Subject: RE: story about mudcat From: paddymac Date: 11 Feb 01 - 07:39 PM Strikes me as a darn good opener to a larger work. |
Subject: RE: story about mudcat From: GUEST Date: 12 Feb 01 - 11:08 AM Check out this other Ploskina article, an interview with a 'catter. |
Subject: RE: story about mudcat From: Katcina Date: 12 Feb 01 - 11:26 AM I found both articles interesting and enlightening. Thank you for making them available for those of us who would otherwise have missed them. |
Subject: RE: story about mudcat From: Willie-O Date: 12 Feb 01 - 11:30 AM And note the response posted to Ploskina's article by esteemed catter Art Thieme. Willie-O |
Subject: RE: story about mudcat From: Ella who is Sooze Date: 12 Feb 01 - 11:33 AM Very interesting.. thanks for that... Not sure if I entirely agree with the below statement... What a sweeping generalisation....... aging musicians.... INDEED... Puh huh hah! The site has also become a ready-made archive for aging musicians who need to know their music will live on. While much of it is archived by the Library of Congress, some of the less-famous works could disappear forever without something like Mudcat. |
Subject: RE: story about mudcat From: GUEST,Roger the skiffler Date: 12 Feb 01 - 11:35 AM "Ageing" I'd admit to but no-one has ever accused me of being a musician (or even musical). RtS |
Subject: RE: story about mudcat From: MMario Date: 12 Feb 01 - 11:44 AM well - look at it this way - if you are alive (and most mudcatters are - I think- ) then you are ageing. At about 1 second per second. Depending on how fast you are moving of course, since ageing is subject to the laws of relativity. |
Subject: RE: story about mudcat From: Rick Fielding Date: 12 Feb 01 - 12:21 PM Whew! We're still safe. It'll probably be quite some time before the mainstream world discovers us again. (Just like Canada) Rapidly Ageing Rick |
Subject: RE: story about mudcat From: Mrrzy Date: 12 Feb 01 - 12:49 PM Very interesting, but let's not become mainstream, shall we? |
