Yeah Hawk.......You know even I am getting tired of this latest boilerplate BS and as a person who loves to BS and has over 10,000 posts on the 'Cat, that's saying something.

Maybe its because we up in the northern hemisphere are sick of winter and are going nuts or the Aussies have had enough fried brains for the summer, but every year at about this time, we go through the "Silly Season" where the stuff gets too nuts even for me. I guess its just a natural thing and I don't care who plays of doesn't play or gets mad or enjoys it.....its all pretty harmless, so who cares?

I'll just be glad when this one passes as have the rest. And BTW, I'm all of the above except tittering, although if that involves boobs, mark me down in favor of that too.

You're a sensible man, Spaw. Is that what "boilerplate" means? I'd been wondering. I am desperately sick of winter by now. It's been a bad one. Matter of fact, I've been pretty depressed since early January, and that has caused me to post some pretty strange stuff in order to momentarily cheer myself up, or escape, or something. At least it was sunny today, which was a nice change.

Kat, coming from you, that's fairly ironic. I'm one of the ones who protested the beginning of "these kinds" of threads, but, majority rules, so I have come to accept them. I don't read many; find some laughs when I do. Yes, right now it's pretty ludicrous. But I don't find that Mudcat is running any slower than it does otherwise. Personally, I don't like the "Thread for the Day" idea either, but I've never felt it was my place to say so. I just don't read them. That's one thread EVERY DAY!!!!!! Talk about clogging up the Mudcat. Yes, some of them are good, but not all of them. Spaw claims to be the most prolific poster, with, if memory serves, you running a close second. I don't think anyone on "these threads" is coming close. So play by your own rules. If you don't enjoy them, don't read them.

And yes, I'm a cowardly little bugger who doesn't want to sign my name to this.

Sorry, I just finally posted to one of the really stoopid ones.......(OK, twice now,) go look for LyrReq: and refresh those babies.....- - somtimes I just get tired of looking for really simple stuff that any reasonably intelligent person could find.....if they'd just put their quote into a Search Engine.......(sorry, I am a little cranky tonite, didn't get much sleep last nite. Late gig + adreneline, then I had to fight for Bed Space and covers all night.

Tried to get a nap today and the phone rang 8 times in 30 mins..........CRABBY!!

I've only known Hardi since late '92, so it's still sort of a new one on me, but each year I see his comment in a new light. This year, I'd say, "Well, every four years He gives us an extra day to see if we've learned how to handle this dark, grim time of year, but you notice He hasn't permanently lengthened it yet." Of course I know God didn't make the calendar-- people did-- it's just a saying.

I know! Let's all pick two or three things to be really judgmental about, and really stick to just those things, and stop being polite about them too!

That way even if we forget to sing together we can all be whining at the same time, and there's got to be some satisfaction that if nothing else. Whatever happened to the whine fine anyway?

Still, I love it when folks who counsel others to "ignore what you don't like" get pulled into commenting on what they themselves don't like. Great little leveler, that.

But guess what-- it doesn't matter what you choose to get in a huff about. We're all some kinda idiot-- and people just get huffy and dress it up in "ideals." (Real ideals inspire more positive action than whining!) Song parody on Spanish is the Loving Tongue... February is the Huffy Month...

I don't have a major opinion on the "To BS or not to BS" issue but I think it would be nice to save people time who DON'T like them. For example, let's use the acronym N.I.F.T.Y. (NOT IN FAVOR of THIS YACKING). Then instead of typing out a long post about why the threads are offensive, we can just add, Nifty thread, very Nifty....

Seriously though, the only threads I don't like a lot are the ones where some of the nicest people on the net start to bicker with each other.......

I seem to remember a few threads about somebody's cats that were pretty stoopid, but did I complain? Everybody has stuff they hate, but if you're not speaking for the WHOLE of the group, it's probably better to bottle it. If others are enjoying a thread, breaking into it and spraying your derision all over it is really not such a great idea.

This I learned from painful experience.

Want more music threads? Start more music threads. The ones that are popular will float; the ones that aren't will sink. Mudcat is VERY democratic.

It really IS February. You know I was pretty pissy myself when I wrote that post and I really didn't mean to be.

And I do want to assure the people who are tired of Rampant Effluviosis (BTD) that I did really hear what you said. It was part of why I took the time to start a music and movie review thread complete with as much info as I could dig up with this stoopid 486 and slow ISP.

Unfortunately my clicky template has failed me the last few times I've used it-- so, sorry, I will not vex you with a broken clicky to the thread, but the name of it is "The Green Pastures (Movie w spirituals)" and it's about a movie as good as Brother Where etc etc only made in 1936 in black english. It's amazing.

So see, you do get heard when you express yourself, and I am sorry I got so crabby in here. Also I am in way too many threads at the moment and am NOT going to set a trace on them-- so I may not be back to see any replies here. I'm trying to cut down here and get some REAL SUN each day!

These beat the heck out of some of the junk in my E~mail and are a lot more fun!!

I spent the worst of winter so far in a travel trailer in my driveway in while my house was being built. A month of below zero in a tin can will turn the sweetest person on earth into a total BITCH!! Glad I was too shy then to post to any threads.

Spring is around the corner I'm sure; that's why I'm in shorts and barefoot with 6" of snow on my convertible.
