I know that they have a regular folk festival, usualy early in the year but can find no referance to this years event on any list that I know of such as Folkroots, folking.com or freefolk. Subject: RE: Help: music in Lincoln, uk From: GeorgeH Date: 15 Feb 01 - 07:41 AM FRoots (son of Folk Roots) publish a list at: http://www.froots.demon.co.uk/festivals/ but the 2001 list doesn't appear there until next month. Lincoln is within travelling distance of Stamford Arts Centre which usually has an excellent Folk/Roots music programme. G. |

Subject: RE: Help: music in Lincoln, uk From: SaulBro Date: 16 Feb 01 - 02:46 AM I wonder if the Spilsby Theater in Spilsby, Lincs. is still having regular music. Great place, last few times I was there. |
Subject: RE: Help: music in Lincoln, uk From: GUEST,Sooze (at work) Date: 16 Feb 01 - 03:29 AM These two sites will tell you almost everything you want to know about music in Lincolnshire. Spilsby does have lots of folk music, so does Grimsby, Stamford, Spalding and Gainsborough - a veritable feast. http://www.folktalk.co.uk/ http://users.tinyonline.co.uk/fizgig-tom/homepage.htm When will we see you back in the Eight Jolly Brewers Mr Red? |
Subject: RE: Help: music in Lincoln, uk From: sledge Date: 16 Feb 01 - 03:38 AM Cheers Sooze, now bookmarked. Sledge |
Subject: RE: Help: music in Lincoln, uk From: Mr Red Date: 16 Feb 01 - 07:25 PM Sooze 8 jolly Brewers - when it clicks over to the 9 jolly Brewers I guess. I used to have a billet in Beverley but it involved a little lady who is no longer involved! Same goes for the Beverley FF. Shame 'cos that was a good festival too, and it is even better when you have a proper bed to sleep in. However never say never, the lure of the Cider House in Brandee Wharf is mighty strong. |
Subject: RE: Help: music in Lincoln, uk From: sledge Date: 17 Feb 01 - 03:01 AM I suppose the number of brewers you are seeing is directionaly proportional to the quantity of brew consumed. :0) Sledge |
Subject: RE: Help: music in Lincoln, uk From: Mr Red Date: 17 Feb 01 - 04:44 AM the confusion is more subtitle than that. Ale is "brewed" and cider is "milled" and as an exclusively ciderhead (allow perry in that) I guess the beer doesn't count. Can we agree they are Jolly? discuss........ |
