Could it be "Crooked Jack"?
Chorus:

It was written by one of the Behans, Dominic or Brendan (I get them mixed up), and it's in the database.

Thanks. I am thinking of a different song, although I'm fond of the song you mention, which I learned as "Crooked Dan."
